Best Black Friday Gaming Deals 2026: Consoles, Games & Accessories

Black Friday is one of the biggest shopping periods of the year for gaming. Sales can include consoles, video games, controllers, headsets, storage, and console bundles.

The challenge is figuring out which offers are actually worth buying.

A retailer may cut the price of a console. Another may keep the console near its normal price but add a game, controller, or gift card. That bundle can sometimes provide more value than the larger advertised discount.

For 2026, we’re watching PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo closely. We’re also looking for worthwhile deals on games and accessories.

For discounts outside gaming, see our complete Black Friday savings guide.

Best Black Friday Gaming Deals to Watch

These are the five consoles I would put at the center of the 2026 guide.

As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.

ProductBest ForWhat to Watch
PlayStation 5 Slim DiscBest OverallConsole discounts and game bundles
PlayStation 5 Pro 2TBBest PremiumPS5 Pro discounts and bundles
Xbox Series X 1TB DiscBest XboxConsole discounts, bundles and games
Nintendo Switch 2Best NintendoHardware and game bundles
Nintendo Switch LiteBest Budget HandheldHardware and game discounts

These aren’t ranked simply by power. Each serves a different buyer.

The PS5 Slim is the most balanced PlayStation choice. PS5 Pro targets performance-focused players. Xbox Series X provides a strong disc-based Xbox option. Switch 2 combines handheld and TV play, while Switch Lite offers a less expensive route into Nintendo gaming.

As Black Friday approaches, we’ll compare actual offers rather than assuming the largest percentage-off label represents the best deal.

PlayStation 5 Slim Disc – Best Overall Gaming Console to Watch

The PlayStation 5 Slim Disc is my first console to watch for Black Friday 2026.

It provides the core PS5 experience while retaining a disc drive. That matters for shoppers who want to compare physical and digital game prices rather than relying entirely on the PlayStation Store.

The Slim design also gives buyers a smaller PS5 chassis without moving up to the more expensive PS5 Pro.

For many households, that’s the sweet spot.

Why Watch the PS5 Slim on Black Friday?

The console price is only part of the equation.

Watch for packages containing a game you already wanted. A worthwhile game bundle could beat a standalone console discount even when the console’s advertised price isn’t dramatically lower.

The disc drive also creates more shopping options after Black Friday. You can compare physical games across retailers and consider used games rather than buying everything digitally.

Best for: Most shoppers who want a PS5 and prefer the flexibility of physical and digital games.

We have a separate guide for shoppers who want to go much deeper into Sony’s console lineup. See our PS5 Black Friday offers and buying advice for more detailed PS5 coverage.

PlayStation 5 Pro 2TB – Best Premium Console to Watch

The PlayStation 5 Pro is the premium PlayStation option.

It includes a 2TB SSD and performance-focused features such as PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, advanced ray tracing, and enhancements for supported games. Sony also supports high-frame-rate gameplay up to 120 fps with 4K output in compatible situations.

That makes it more appealing to players with a capable 4K display who care about image quality and performance.

But the Pro isn’t automatically the better purchase.

A PS5 Slim may make more sense if you mainly want access to PS5 games and don’t place much value on the Pro’s graphical improvements.

Remember the Disc Drive

This is an important difference.

PS5 Pro does not include a disc drive. Sony allows buyers to add a compatible Disc Drive separately.

That means someone with a large physical PlayStation collection needs to consider the additional cost when comparing a PS5 Pro against the PS5 Slim Disc.

Best for: Performance-focused PS5 players with a good display who are willing to pay more for the upgraded hardware.

Xbox Series X 1TB Disc – Best Xbox Console to Watch

The Xbox Series X 1TB Carbon Black is the Xbox model I would prioritize for Black Friday.

It combines a 1TB NVMe SSD with a 4K UHD Blu-ray drive. Microsoft lists true 4K gaming and performance up to 120 FPS among its capabilities.

More importantly for a deal shopper, the disc drive gives you flexibility.

You can buy digital games when they’re cheaper while still comparing physical copies across retailers.

Microsoft also sells an all-digital 1TB Series X. That model can make sense at the right price, but don’t choose it simply because its upfront cost is lower.

Disc vs. Digital Xbox Series X

Think about how you buy games.

If you already purchase everything digitally, an all-digital console may be perfectly reasonable.

If you buy used games, borrow games, or frequently find discounted physical copies, the disc-equipped Series X can provide more opportunities to save over several years.

Microsoft currently lists 1TB disc, 1TB all-digital, and 2TB disc configurations in the Series X family.

Best for: Xbox players who want strong performance without giving up physical games.

Nintendo Switch 2 – Best Nintendo Console to Watch

The Nintendo Switch 2 is one of the most important consoles to watch this Black Friday.

Nintendo’s newer system has a 7.9-inch 1080p LCD display with HDR10 and variable refresh rate support up to 120 Hz. It includes 256GB of internal storage and can output up to 4K at 60 fps on compatible TVs and games.

Like the original Switch concept, Switch 2 can move between portable and TV gaming.

That makes it particularly attractive for households that don’t want a system tied permanently to one television.

Watch Switch 2 Bundles Closely

A console-only price cut isn’t the only deal worth considering.

Nintendo shoppers should compare packages that include a game they already intended to buy.

For example, a modest hardware discount with an unwanted extra isn’t necessarily better than a full-price package containing a game you would otherwise purchase separately.

Switch 2 can also play compatible original Nintendo Switch games, although Nintendo notes that some older titles may not be fully compatible.

That can add value for someone who already owns Switch games.

Best for: Nintendo fans, families, and players who want both portable and TV gaming.

Nintendo Switch Lite – Best Budget Handheld to Watch

The Nintendo Switch Lite serves a different purpose.

It’s a compact system designed around handheld play rather than a less expensive substitute for every feature of Switch 2.

Switch Lite has a 5.5-inch 720p LCD screen, 32GB of internal storage, and a compact integrated-controller design. Nintendo lists battery life at roughly three to seven hours depending on use.

The biggest reason we’re including it is price positioning.

A strong Black Friday discount could make Switch Lite interesting for children, travel, or buyers who primarily want handheld Nintendo gaming.

Switch Lite vs. Switch 2

Don’t compare the discount percentages. Compare the final prices and what you’re getting.

Switch 2 has newer hardware, a much larger 7.9-inch 1080p display, 256GB of storage, and TV-play capability. Switch Lite is much simpler and handheld-focused.

If the price difference is small, Switch 2 becomes more attractive.

If Black Friday creates a substantial gap and you only want portable play, Switch Lite becomes much easier to justify.

Best for: Budget-focused Nintendo shoppers who primarily want handheld gaming.

Black Friday Video Game Deals

You don’t need a new console to benefit from Black Friday gaming sales.

Video games themselves can be some of the easiest products to compare.

Retailers may discount physical games while PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, and PC storefronts run digital promotions.

Start with a list of games you actually want.

It prevents a common Black Friday mistake: buying five mediocre games because they’re inexpensive instead of buying one or two you’ll actually play.

New Games vs. Older Games

Recently released games may have less room for a large discount.

Older releases can be more aggressive sale candidates, especially when retailers have physical inventory to move.

However, age alone doesn’t make a game a bargain.

Check whether you’re looking at the standard game, deluxe edition, remaster, or another version before comparing prices.

Physical vs. Digital Game Deals

Physical and digital games each have advantages.

Physical games allow you to compare more retailers. Depending on the platform and game, they may also give you options to trade, resell, or share the disc.

Digital games are convenient. There’s no disc to store, and major platform stores can run their own holiday sales.

This is one reason the console version you buy matters.

If you’re an aggressive bargain hunter who regularly compares used and discounted physical games, giving up a disc drive can reduce your options later.

Black Friday Gaming Accessory Deals

You don’t need another console if your current system still works well.

Controllers, storage, and headsets can sometimes be more practical upgrades.

One accessory I would specifically watch is the Xbox Wireless Controller in Carbon Black.

Microsoft’s current controller design includes a hybrid D-pad and textured grip. It works across Xbox Series X|S and other supported devices. Current retail listings also identify PC compatibility.

An extra controller makes sense for local multiplayer or as a replacement for an aging controller.

Other gaming accessories worth watching include:

  • PlayStation DualSense controllers
  • Gaming headsets
  • Console storage
  • Charging stations
  • Nintendo Switch 2 accessories
  • Gaming keyboards and mice

Compatibility comes before price.

A cheap storage device isn’t a bargain if it doesn’t meet your console’s requirements.

PC Gaming Deals

Black Friday gaming deals extend well beyond consoles.

PC players can watch for discounts on games, monitors, controllers, keyboards, mice, headsets, and storage.

For this page, we’re deliberately keeping the focus on gaming rather than turning it into another computer-buying guide.

If you need an entire gaming computer, our Black Friday laptop deals and buying guide covers gaming laptops alongside everyday Windows laptops, Chromebooks and 2-in-1s.

For PC games, compare multiple storefronts. One store having a sale doesn’t mean it has the lowest price on every title.

Where to Find the Best Black Friday Gaming Deals

Don’t assume one retailer will win every gaming category.

Amazon may have a strong console offer while another retailer has the better bundle. A third store may have the game or accessory you want for less.

That’s why the complete value matters.

Amazon

Amazon is useful for comparing consoles, games, and accessories in one place.

Check the exact product and seller before ordering. This becomes especially important when third-party sellers offer their own console bundles.

Best Buy

Best Buy is worth checking for consoles, games, and gaming electronics.

It can also be convenient when you’re comparing a console with a television, monitor, or headset.

Walmart

Walmart can be competitive for console packages, games, and accessories.

Read the bundle contents carefully so you know exactly what is included.

GameStop

GameStop is especially relevant for consoles, physical games, and accessories.

It can also be useful for shoppers who trade hardware or games.

Official Console Stores

Check PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo as well.

The platform stores are particularly important for digital game promotions.

You don’t have to be loyal to one retailer. Compare the exact same product before buying.

Console Bundle vs. Console-Only Deal

A bundle isn’t automatically better.

Imagine one retailer takes $50 off a console. Another sells it at the regular price but includes a $70 game.

The bundle only provides $70 of additional value to you if you actually wanted that game.

Otherwise, you’re paying for an extra you wouldn’t have purchased.

Use a simple test: Would I buy every item in this bundle separately?

If yes, compare the combined cost. If no, don’t count the unwanted extras at full retail value when deciding which deal wins.

Which Gaming Console Should You Buy?

The best console depends more on the games and features you want than on a temporary Black Friday discount.

Choose PS5 Slim Disc if:

You want the standard PS5 experience and want to keep the option to buy physical games.

For most PlayStation shoppers, this is where I would start.

Choose PS5 Pro if:

You already know you’ll benefit from the upgraded graphics and performance features.

It makes more sense for an enthusiast than someone simply trying to enter the PlayStation ecosystem as cheaply as possible. Remember that adding disc support increases the total cost.

Choose Xbox Series X if:

You prefer the Xbox ecosystem and want a powerful console with physical-game support.

The 1TB Carbon Black disc model is the version I would compare first during Black Friday. Microsoft confirms that model includes a 4K UHD Blu-ray drive.

Choose Nintendo Switch 2 if:

Nintendo games and portable play are priorities. Its combination of handheld, tabletop, and TV use gives it a different role than PS5 or Xbox.

Choose Nintendo Switch Lite if:

You mainly want an inexpensive handheld Nintendo system. It’s especially worth watching if Black Friday creates a large price difference between it and Switch 2.

Should You Buy an Older Console on Black Friday?

Sometimes. Older hardware can become interesting when retailers discount it enough. But don’t look at price alone.

Consider how long you plan to keep the console, which games you want, storage, physical-game support, and whether you’re likely to want newer hardware shortly afterward.

Saving $100 isn’t particularly useful if you’re unhappy with the system and replace it next year.

How to Compare Black Friday Console Deals Across Retailers

Make sure you’re comparing the same hardware first.

This matters with products such as Xbox Series X, where disc and all-digital configurations exist, and PlayStation, where PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro serve different buyers.

Next, calculate the value of the entire package.

Compare: Console + game + controller + gift card against buying those same products separately. Ignore extras you don’t actually want.

Finally, check the seller and return policy before ordering. Black Friday attracts third-party bundles that can make direct price comparisons harder than they initially appear.

How to Tell if a Black Friday Gaming Deal Is Actually Good

Don’t judge a deal by the crossed-out price. Start with the product’s normal selling price.

Then ask what Black Friday actually changed. Did the console get cheaper? Did the retailer add a game? Are you getting a second controller? Is there a useful gift card? Is the discounted product an older version?

Those questions provide more useful information than a giant percentage-off graphic.

When Do Black Friday Gaming Deals Start?

Black Friday falls on November 27, 2026.

You probably won’t have to wait until November 27 to see gaming promotions.

Retailers increasingly spread holiday sales across November. Console bundles, games, and accessories may appear before the main Black Friday weekend.

That doesn’t mean you should buy the first early promotion.

If the exact console you want reaches a price or bundle value you’re comfortable with, buying early can make sense. If the offer looks ordinary, waiting may give you more choices.

Should You Wait for Cyber Monday?

Cyber Monday can produce another round of gaming sales.

Waiting is relatively easy for common games and accessories because alternatives are plentiful.

Consoles are different.

A particularly attractive console bundle can sell out. If you’ve found the exact system and package you want at a genuinely strong price, waiting several days to save a little more can backfire.

Black Friday Gaming Deals FAQ

Are gaming consoles cheaper on Black Friday?

Sometimes. Direct price cuts aren’t the only way retailers compete. You may also see bundles containing games, gift cards, or accessories.

Is Black Friday a good time to buy video games?

It can be. Compare physical and digital stores, especially for older releases that may receive larger discounts.

Is PS5 Slim or PS5 Pro better?

For most buyers, PS5 Slim provides the core PlayStation experience for less. PS5 Pro makes more sense for enthusiasts who value its enhanced graphics and performance features.

Does PS5 Pro include a disc drive?

No. Sony’s standard PS5 Pro package does not include the Disc Drive. A compatible drive can be added separately.

Is Xbox Series X available with a disc drive?

Yes. Microsoft’s 1TB Carbon Black Series X includes a 4K UHD Blu-ray drive. Microsoft also offers an all-digital Series X configuration.

Is Nintendo Switch 2 better than Switch Lite?

Switch 2 is much more capable and can be used on a TV. Switch Lite is designed for portable play and can make more sense when keeping the purchase price low is the priority.

Will Nintendo Switch 2 have Black Friday deals in 2026?

We won’t claim a discount until retailers announce one. Watch both standalone console pricing and bundles because an included game can change the value of the offer.

Are console bundles better than standalone console deals?

Only if you want the included products. Don’t treat an unwanted game or accessory as full-value savings.

Finding the Best Black Friday Gaming Deal

The biggest discount isn’t necessarily the best gaming deal.

For a new console, decide which ecosystem and games you want first. Then compare the exact hardware across several retailers.

Our five main systems to watch are the PS5 Slim Disc, PS5 Pro 2TB, Xbox Series X 1TB Disc, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch Lite.

For existing console owners, Black Friday video game and accessory deals may provide more value than replacing hardware that still works well.

As Black Friday 2026 gets closer, we’ll update this guide as retailers announce worthwhile gaming offers.
